On the eve of the national holiday of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Republic Day, a solemn opening ceremony of the bust of the great Kazakh poet, thinker, and enlightener Abai Kunanbayev was held in the "Abai" neighborhood of the Bektemir district in Tashkent city.

The event was organized with the support of representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Kazakh National Cultural Center, the Tashkent City Khokimiyat, and the Association of Neighborhoods of Uzbekistan.

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are united by a shared history, cultural closeness, centuries-old brotherhood, and mutual respect.

The unveiling of the bust became a vivid expression of friendship and spiritual solidarity between the two countries. Abai's legacy can become one of the solid foundations of these ties. The ceremony marked the starting point for a series of festive events dedicated to the Republic Day of Kazakhstan.

The perpetuation of Abai's memory on the street named after Mukhtar Auezov in Tashkent is a sign of deep respect for the great representative of Kazakh culture.

This reflects the commonality of historical roots, cultural traditions, and spiritual values of the two brotherly peoples.
