A 27-year-old Uzbek citizen has been detained in Russia on suspicion of engaging in intimate correspondence with a minor.

A 27-year-old Uzbek citizen has been detained in a Russian region. The man is suspected of engaging in sexually explicit correspondence with a 14-year-old schoolgirl on the messaging app Telegram, as well as persistently attempting to arrange a personal meeting.

According to available information, the suspicious activity was noticed by members of a vigilante group, who promptly reported the information to the police. Thanks to the swift action of law enforcement, the meeting was prevented, and the suspect was apprehended.

In a published video recording, the detainee confirmed his correspondence with the 14-year-old girl, admitted knowing her age, and suggested they meet. He also stated that he realized his actions were unacceptable.

Official information regarding the location of the incident and further legal proceedings against the man have not yet been released.

Earlier, two Uzbek citizens were detained in Ulyanovsk on suspicion of committing a serious crime against the sexual integrity of a minor. The suspects face 15 to 20 years in prison.
