A 21-year-old girl died after surgery in Qarshi

Reports have spread on social networks that a 21-year-old girl died in the city of Qarshi as a result of an unsuccessful surgical operation. The Health Department of the Qashqadaryo region provided official information on this situation.

According to the department, L.M., born in 2005, was admitted to the neurosurgery department of the Qashqadaryo Regional Multidisciplinary Hospital on October 14 with a diagnosis of "pituitary adenoma".

For several years, the patient had been bothered by symptoms such as breathing difficulties, stunted growth, and thickening of fingers and toes. Examinations revealed a large tumor in her pituitary gland. Hormonal tests showed that growth hormone levels were significantly higher than normal.

On October 16, with the participation of a specialist from the capital, the tumor in the patient's pituitary gland was removed endoscopically through the nose.

According to official information, the patient was under medical supervision after the surgery. An examination conducted on October 19 revealed no complications.

However, on October 20, the girl's condition sharply worsened. She experienced an increase in blood pressure, as well as impaired consciousness, breathing, and cardiac function.

Despite intensive treatment measures taken by doctors, the patient died on October 26.

Currently, a pre-investigation check is being conducted by prosecutor's office authorities regarding this situation. It was stated that additional information will be provided based on the results of the check.

At present, it has not been officially confirmed that a mistake during the surgical operation was the exact cause of the patient's death.
