80-year-old actor Sylvester Stallone rejected Trump's special post

80-year-old actor Sylvester Stallone has declined a special position offered by Trump.

He said he found out about this initiative through the TV news, and in the same way, he heard the news about the appointment of his colleagues Mel Gibson and Jon Voight alongside him.

The actor noted that if his opinion had been asked beforehand, he would have said that this task was impossible. He openly responded to the offer: "Thank you and ciao — because it's impossible."

Stallone explained his refusal by pointing to the way business is run in Hollywood. According to his comparison, the film industry is like feudal states, each with its own property. "You can't just walk into six studios and tell them how to run things," the actor said. He also expressed confidence that no top manager would listen to an actor's financial advice.

In January 2025, Trump announced via social media that Stallone, Mel Gibson, and Jon Voight would serve as special ambassadors to bring film production back to the US from abroad. Gibson was also not warned in advance and learned about his appointment from Trump's post.
