In the Bukhara region, cases of cyber fraud aimed at deceiving people in various ways are frequently occurring.
One such incident took place in the Bukhara district. A citizen was sent an APK file via Instagram. Through this file, they were prompted to download an application named "Roha-24". The message allegedly claimed that they had a fine of 10 million soums.
Believing this, the user immediately installed the application on their phone and opened it. Following this, 6.5 million soums of the money expected to be credited to their bank account disappeared...
"An application called 'Roha-24' arrived. Saying that I had a fine. Without knowing, I entered that application and then exited. 9 million soums was supposed to be credited to my account. Out of that, they withdrew 6.5 million soums,"
said the victim.
The individual, who lost millions in a matter of seconds, immediately contacted the internal affairs bodies. Thanks to timely measures taken, the 6.5 million soums was returned to the owner's account.
Experts recommend not downloading APK files received from unknown individuals, not accessing suspicious links, and not providing bank card and account details to strangers.
