$219 million to be invested in renovating a neighborhood in Kashkadarya region.

The Kashkadarya regional council has approved a master plan for the reconstruction of the “Khontepa” neighborhood in Karshi city.

This project is expected to attract direct investment of $219.1 million, create more than 3,000 new jobs, and generate more than 100 billion soums in tax revenue to the state budget annually.

The renovation project covers an area of 26.8 hectares. According to the master plan, 107 residential buildings with 7-9 floors will be built here, creating a total of 3,050 apartments. These apartments will provide living conditions for 10,620 residents.

8.3 hectares of the area will be allocated as green space. A 4.8-hectare central promenade - boulevard will also be built. It is planned to create 9.6 kilometers of pedestrian and 9.4 kilometers of bicycle paths.

The project provides for the construction of 3,200 parking spaces, including 1,500 underground parking spaces. In addition, a preschool educational institution with 210 places and a private school with 400 places will be built.

On the ground floors of residential buildings, commercial, service and business areas with a total area of 47,800 square meters will be organized.

The project for the renovation of the "Khontepa" area will be implemented in three main stages in 2026-2032. For this, the area will be divided into 8 investment plots and 32 lots.

This project is aimed at creating a modern architectural environment in the city of Karshi, improving comfortable and safe living conditions for residents, and increasing the economic potential of the area.

As a reminder, on June 10, the President signed the Law "On Urban Renovation." According to the document, renovation involves the renewal of facilities that are outdated, unsuitable for habitation or use, and in a state of emergency.
