Zelensky announces agreement with the US on Patriot missiles

Zelensky announced an agreement with the United States on Patriot missiles.
Ukraine and the United States have reached an agreement on the monthly supply of missiles for Patriot air defense systems. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a joint press conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Belgrade.
"Will they allocate missiles to us every month? Yes, we have such an agreement," he said.
According to Zelensky, the United States, as a manufacturer of missile defense systems, has the missiles needed by Kiev, and the Ukrainian side is working with Washington on their delivery.
At the same time, the Ukrainian president noted that the agreed amount will not be enough for the needs of Ukrainian air defense. He said that "the number of these missiles will decrease in 2026."
In April, Zelensky said that the stock of missiles for Ukrainian air defense could run out "any week." At the end of May, he asked the United States to grant Kiev a license to produce Patriot missiles.
In early July, US President Donald Trump said that Washington was ready to grant such a license. However, in August, America announced that there would be no long-term agreement on the production of missiles before the winter.
At the same time, Trump stressed that the United States itself needs Patriot missiles and that it is not possible to supply Ukraine with additional ammunition in the required quantity.
In turn, it was reported in the US Congress that the parties are holding consultations on the issue of providing Kiev with technology for the production of Patriot air defense systems.
