Water outage forces Chessington theme park to close

Chessington says all tickets booked for Monday can be used on a future date.

Chessington World of Adventures has ceased operations for the day due to a water outage impacting the vicinity, as stated by the resort.

The theme park and zoo, situated in south-west London, announced that tickets purchased for Monday, August 10, would be eligible for refunds or revalidation.

The cause of the outage and an anticipated reopening date were not disclosed.

This closure occurs during the peak school summer holiday season, a period of high attendance for theme parks across the UK.

Chessington extended an apology for the disruption and expressed gratitude for visitors' understanding.

In July 2018, the park experienced a one-day closure following a ruptured water main that deprived local residences and businesses of water or resulted in diminished pressure.
