Uzbekistan's Uzmetkombinat and the global financial institution Citi have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance their collaboration in international debt capital markets, as announced by the Uzbek company.

This document was signed following a meeting held in New York on July 24. Key attendees from Uzmetkombinat included Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bakhodir Abdullayev, along with Hasan Khaydarov, the Deputy Chairman for Finance, Economics, and Transformation. Representatives from Citi were also present at the gathering.

During their discussions, the parties explored opportunities for raising capital in international markets, diversifying funding sources, and investigating the potential issuance of international debt instruments.

Under the terms of the memorandum, both entities will consider utilizing Citi's investment banking expertise, which encompasses its potential role as a coordinator and bookrunner for future international debt offerings.
