Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uzbekistan women's under-19 national boxing team secured first place in the overall team standings at the Asian Boxing U19 and U23 Championships currently being held in Jakarta.

Uzbek competitors participated in eight of the ten weight categories, achieving a total of six medals, which included four gold and two silver. This impressive performance allowed the team to clinch the top position in the overall rankings. The national team from Kazakhstan took second place, while India finished in third.

The gold medals for Uzbekistan were earned by Sabrina Chakomanova (under 54 kg), Sevara Mamatova (under 60 kg), Rushanabonu Isoeva (under 65 kg), and Samira Turgunova (under 75 kg). Each of these athletes won their final matches with a unanimous score of 5:0. Chakomanova triumphed over Joyshree Devi from India, Mamatova defeated Chahat of India, Isoeva won against Tong Wong from Chinese Taipei, and Turgunova bested Anshika of India.

The silver medals were claimed by Nazokat Mardonova (under 51 kg), who lost in the final to Indian competitor Chandrika Pujari with a score of 0:5, and Maftuna Yangieva (under 70 kg), who was narrowly defeated by Kazakhstan's Kamila Ospanova with a score of 2:3 in her final match.

The Asian Championships in Jakarta are ongoing, with representatives from the Uzbekistan national team in the U23 category set to compete for medals next.
