Uzbekistan, Russia Discuss Expanding Interior Ministry Ties

Uzbekistan and Russia convened a routine session of their interior ministries' interagency coordination working group in Moscow to explore avenues for broadening practical collaboration in law enforcement. The International Cooperation Department of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the gathering.

Delegations were headed by Major General Botir Kudratkhodjayev, Uzbekistan's First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, and Police Colonel General Andrey Khrapov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Discussions centered on joint efforts to combat crime, uphold public safety, counter transnational criminal activities, and enhance the professional development of law enforcement personnel.

Attendees underscored the importance of intensifying information exchange between the two ministries and synchronizing operational endeavors through the application of contemporary information technologies.

Concluding the meeting, both parties expressed that the discussions, characterized by an open and constructive spirit, would foster the continued evolution of interagency cooperation and reinforce mutual trust and comprehension.

Subsequently, the Uzbek delegation toured the main directorates of Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow and St. Petersburg, locations frequently visited by Uzbek citizens.

During these visits, perspectives were shared on safeguarding citizens' rights and freedoms, preventing criminal acts, and evaluating the operations of pertinent departments within Russia's internal affairs bodies.
