Uzbekistan Receives Credentials of Gambia’s New Ambassador

Uzbekistan Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov received the credentials of Gambia’s new ambassador and discussed prospects for expanding bilateral ties.

On July 27, Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, formally accepted the credentials from Alkali Fanka Conteh, who has been designated as The Gambia's new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan.

During their discussion, the officials explored avenues for advancing the bilateral relationship between the two nations. Uzbekistan underscored its commitment to fostering mutually beneficial connections with African states, highlighting substantial, yet untapped, potential for collaboration with The Gambia.

A key focus of the meeting was the enhancement of trade and economic links between Uzbekistan and The Gambia.

Uzbekistan conveyed its optimism that Ambassador Conteh's tenure would contribute to solidifying and operationalizing the bilateral ties.
