Uzbekistan pays over 330 billion soums to solar owners
Uzbekistan paid more than 330 billion soums in first-half 2026 subsidies to owners of solar panels for electricity supplied to the national power grid.
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – The Tax Committee announced that during the first six months of 2026, the Uzbek state budget disbursed 330.822 billion soums in subsidies to 68,600 individuals. These payments were for electricity generated by their solar panels and fed into Uzbekistan's national power grid.
The Bukhara Region saw the highest payout, with residents receiving 61.9 billion soums. The Khorezm Region followed with 60.5 billion soums in subsidies, while the Kashkadarya Region received 37.3 billion soums.
The Tax Committee advised recipients that they can transfer their accumulated subsidies to a bank card via the "Cashback and Benefits" service within the "Solar Home" section of the Soliq mobile application.
Furthermore, the committee highlighted that the "Solar Home" program, effective since April 1, 2023, provides 1,000 soums for each kilowatt-hour of electricity that property owners' solar panels supply to the unified power system beyond their own household consumption. These subsidies are funded by the state budget.
