Uzbekistan, India to Expand Pharmaceutical Sector Ties

Uzbekistan and India are set to broaden their collaboration within the pharmaceutical industry, a topic recently addressed during a working visit to India by Abdulla Azizov, Director of Uzbekistan's Agency for Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Azizov's discussions included a meeting with Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal. This engagement occurred while Azizov was part of an Uzbek delegation headed by Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade.

The agenda for the meeting covered various aspects of enhancing trade, economic, and investment cooperation. Key points included strategies for boosting bilateral trade, expanding industrial partnerships, and providing support for joint investment initiatives.

A significant portion of the talks focused on the pharmaceutical sector. Both sides explored opportunities for collaborative manufacturing of medicines and medical devices, facilitating technology transfer, engaging in joint scientific research, implementing innovative advancements, and undertaking projects that offer high added value.
