Uzbekistan Education Ministry Cancels 587m Soum Tender
Uzbekistan's Education Ministry canceled a 587.2 million soum tender following a probe by the Competition Committee into procurement violations.
Uzbekistan's Ministry of Preschool and School Education has voided a service procurement tender worth 587.2 million soums. This action came after the Competition Development Committee mandated the cancellation due to legal infractions identified during the procurement process.
The committee initiated its review subsequent to a social media post titled "One Address, One Phone Number — One Tender." The investigation focused on adherence to legislative mandates in the competition for organizing centralized events. This competition had been announced by the ministry on July 27, 2026, with an initial valuation of 587.2 million soums.
It was determined during the review that the procurement did not meet the stipulations of Article 29 of the Law on Competition. The committee stated that actions taken during the bidding process either restricted or had the potential to restrict competition.
Consequently, the committee issued a directive to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, instructing it to comply with legal standards. In response to this directive, the tender was canceled in line with established protocols.
