Uzbekistan's Football Association (UFA) is considering a friendly match against Russia, according to Usmon Toshev, head of the National Teams Department.

Toshev expressed enthusiasm for the potential fixture, stating, "We are ready and would be delighted to play against the Russian national team." He noted that Uzbekistan currently has only one confirmed friendly, against South Korea in October, leaving open the September–October international windows or November for a match with Russia.

Highlighting the competitive aspect, Toshev added, "Our teams last faced each other four years ago, and it would be highly interesting for us to test ourselves against such a strong opponent once again." He clarified that any final decision would involve evaluating existing proposals, ongoing discussions with other Asian teams, and input from head coach Fabio Cannavaro.

Regarding logistics, Toshev affirmed, "If a formal proposal is made, we are fully prepared to either host the Russian national team in Tashkent or travel to Moscow or any other Russian city." He concluded by emphasizing, "We remain completely open to negotiations and would be pleased to discuss the possibility of making this match happen."
