Uzbekistan and Malaysia Expand Agricultural Cooperation
Uzbekistan and Malaysia discussed expanding cooperation in agriculture, food security, and the oil and fats industry during talks held in Tashkent.
Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Kahramon Yuldashev, hosted a meeting with Malaysia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Rafidah Abdul Aziz, along with Belvinder Sron, CEO of the Malaysian Palm Oil Council (MPOC), and other members of a Malaysian delegation at the Ministry of Agriculture in Tashkent, as reported by the ministry.
Discussions centered on potential avenues for collaboration in food security, agriculture, and the adoption of contemporary technologies.
Key topics addressed during the talks included enhancing agricultural engagement, guaranteeing food security, advancing the oil and fats sector, broadening scientific partnerships, and undertaking joint investment initiatives.
Particular emphasis was placed on examining cutting-edge international practices, fostering the processing industry, extending value chains, and reinforcing mutually beneficial alliances in promising sectors.
This meeting occurred concurrently with the international forum "Food Safety & Innovation: Palm Oil Solutions for Central Asia," which was also held in Tashkent.
