Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (UzDaily.uz) – Officials from Uzbekistan recently convened with top executives of Dagang NeXchange Berhad (DNeX), a Malaysian technology conglomerate, in Kuala Lumpur. Their discussions centered on the potential for advancing Uzbekistan's semiconductor sector and high-tech production capabilities.
Uzbekistan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Malaysia, alongside a delegate from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, participated in the talks.
Key topics addressed by the parties included the establishment of a semiconductor framework in Uzbekistan, the cultivation of skilled professionals, drawing in capital, sharing cutting-edge knowledge, and undertaking collaborative high-tech ventures.
Particular emphasis was placed on DNeX's expertise within the semiconductor field. The company stands as a prominent Malaysian technology group, with operations spanning digital technologies, ICT services, energy, and semiconductor fabrication.
In 2021, DNeX secured a 60% ownership in SilTerra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., a leading semiconductor producer in Malaysia.
Subsequent to the meeting, both sides reiterated their commitment to fostering a contemporary semiconductor environment in Uzbekistan, integrating advanced technologies, expanding high-tech manufacturing capacity, and deepening investment partnerships.
