Uzbekistan and Italy discuss mining industry cooperation
Uzbekistan Mining Industry and Geology Minister Bobir Islamov met with Italian Ambassador Guido De Sanctis to expand cooperation in mining and exploration.
**Uzbekistan and Italy Deliberate Mining Sector Collaboration**
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Bobir Islamov, Uzbekistan's Minister of Mining Industry and Geology, convened a meeting with Guido De Sanctis, Italy's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The discussions primarily focused on the current state and future trajectory of Uzbek-Italian engagement within the mining industry and geology sectors.
The officials also examined potential areas for collaboration in the metallurgical and hydrocarbon industries, in addition to the development of joint educational and scientific initiatives with the University of Pisa.
Following the session, both parties reached an understanding to persist with their joint efforts in executing bilateral projects, attracting leading Italian enterprises, and cultivating partnerships in geological exploration, mineral extraction, and processing.
