Uzbekistan and Belarus plan to develop a roadmap for cooperation in the energy sector.

According to the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Energy, this issue, along with the creation of a joint working group to coordinate interaction, was the focus of a meeting between Belarusian Energy Minister Denis Moroz and Uzbek Ambassador to Belarus Nuriddin Mamajonov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed potential areas of bilateral cooperation and the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest level during Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to Belarus in July.

Key priorities included: cooperation in nuclear energy, including the use of Belarusian experience in the construction of nuclear power plants in Uzbekistan; development of energy infrastructure; participation of Belarusian design, construction, and installation companies in projects on the Uzbek market; cooperation in the electrical engineering industry; automation and digitalization of energy facilities; and personnel training.

Denis Moroz noted that Belarus and Uzbekistan maintain a high level of trust and constructive dialogue in the energy sector, and emphasized the need to translate this accumulated potential into concrete joint projects.

Following the meeting, the parties also discussed the formation of a joint Belarusian-Uzbek working group and the preparation of a roadmap that would encompass promising areas of cooperation and joint projects.
