Uzbekistan and Algeria Expand Geological Cooperation
Uzbekistan and Algeria discussed expanding cooperation in mining, geology, investment, exploration and professional training.

Feruza Khamidova, Uzbekistan's First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology, recently convened with Jamila Ashur, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to Uzbekistan. The primary focus of their discussion was the potential for advancing bilateral cooperation in the fields of mining and geology.
During the talks, Algerian representatives provided an overview of their country's endeavors to develop its mining and geological sectors, attract foreign investment, modernize existing infrastructure, and expand collaborations with international partners.
In response, Feruza Khamidova shared details regarding the reforms currently underway in Uzbekistan's mining and geology sector. She also highlighted the operations of major industrial enterprises and showcased the large-scale investment projects that have been successfully launched in recent years.
A significant portion of the discussion was dedicated to expanding cooperation in the mining industry, geological exploration, and the crucial area of training qualified specialists.
To further these objectives, both sides agreed to organize a video conference. This virtual meeting will involve Algeria’s relevant ministry and Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology. The aim of this upcoming conference is to pinpoint priority areas for future collaboration and to commence the development of joint projects.
