Uzbekistan's Migration Agency announced it is investigating an incident depicted in social media videos, which show Uzbek nationals undergoing inspections by Russian law enforcement in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The agency's representative office in Russia, in collaboration with Uzbekistan's Consulate General in Kazan, is working with Russian authorities to ascertain the full details of the situation and to safeguard the rights and interests of the Uzbek citizens involved.
Contact has been made with M.S., an Uzbek citizen featured in the video, who is now receiving consular and legal support.
Furthermore, the agency confirmed that a flight ticket for M.S. to return to Uzbekistan has been secured using money from the Migration Fund. Her scheduled arrival in Uzbekistan is August 6, 2026.
