Trump: "We need missiles for ourselves too"
US President Donald Trump, responding to a question about the possibility of supplying additional missiles to Ukraine, stressed that the country itself needs such weapons. At the same time, he accused the Joe Biden administration of reducing US arms stocks due to military aid provided to Kiev.

US President Donald Trump touched upon the issue of supplying additional military aid to Ukraine, including missile interceptors and long-range missiles for the Patriot air defense system, at a White House briefing.
When asked by reporters whether Washington would send additional missiles to Kiev, Trump replied: "We need missiles too."
At the same time, he accused the Joe Biden administration of seriously reducing US arms reserves due to military aid to Ukraine.
"Biden gave Zelensky $ 300 billion in ammunition. When I left office, the warehouses were full, but he distributed a large part of them. Now we are restoring these reserves," Trump said.
He noted that the US military still has enough weapons. Although the president admitted that some systems are not the most modern, they are quite effective.
The statement came as the Ukrainian leadership reiterated its need for Patriot missile defense systems to protect against air strikes.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had called on partner countries to urgently deliver air defense missile stocks after Russia's massive missile strike on the night of August 1. He said the assets "are not in storage for possible future scenarios, but are needed by Ukraine right now."
