Pentagon releases new UFO footage

The US Department of Defense has released a fifth of its UFO files, the BBC reported.

The files include 41 files, including 16 videos, three images and dozens of PDFs. The oldest of these files dates back to 1953, while the latest is from this year. The government has not yet concluded what the incidents were.

The videos show a variety of events, including a round balloon flying in a straight line over residential buildings in the Middle East in 2025 and a dark-colored "balloon" measuring 1.2 meters in diameter that appeared in the Gulf of Oman in 2021. Another video shows a black balloon appearing over the Pacific Ocean in 2019, then disappearing and reappearing.

The documents contain testimonies from pilots who flew from Boston, USA, to Dublin, Ireland, in October 2023. They said they encountered strange lights in the night sky that changed course and flashed and then went out.

The documents also mention former military personnel who saw a large dark triangular object with lights at the corners in the US in 2011. Other videos show unidentified objects flying over mountains and even a ship.

The debate over UFOs became a hot topic in the American media in February after former US President Barack Obama appeared on a podcast. When asked by the host about his belief in extraterrestrial civilizations, Obama replied, "They exist, but I've never seen them." This answer attracted public attention.

After that, US President Donald Trump said that the special services would disclose all information about extraterrestrial civilizations. On May 8, the Pentagon announced the first information, consisting of 161 files, and announced that they would be published in stages.
