Tashkent Police Apprehend Minor for Theft of 6.18 Million Soums from Store Till

A juvenile has been taken into custody in Tashkent following the alleged theft of 6.18 million soums from a retail establishment's cash register, as confirmed by the Tashkent City Police Department.

According to official reports, the young individual gained entry to the store by squeezing through a small opening in the door and proceeded to empty the cash register. Night patrol security personnel observed the suspect's suspicious actions and detained him on-site, preventing his escape. The officers promptly alerted the police dispatch unit.

During the subsequent investigation, the entirety of the stolen cash was recovered and returned to the shop's proprietor.

The incident brought to light deficiencies in local security infrastructure. Investigators determined that neither the affected shop nor several adjacent commercial businesses were linked to a central security monitoring system. In response, police conducted crime-prevention sessions with local business owners, advising them to enhance their security protocols. Following these discussions, the burgled business and nearby shops entered into service agreements with the security department.

The officers instrumental in apprehending the suspect and resolving the case have received official commendation and rewards from the leadership of the internal affairs organs.
