Taliban seizes over 72 hectares of land in Nangarhar province

The Afghan Taliban administration announced that the Ministry of Justice has seized 179 acres (72.4387 hectares) of land in Nangarhar province, Hasht-e Subh Daily reported.

The ministry posted the information on its Facebook page on August 6. The report said the land is located in the Kashk area of Surkh Rod district of Nangarhar province.

The Taliban said that the land documents were reviewed by a special court for occupied Emirate lands. After legal procedures, the land was transferred to the ministry.

Since returning to power, the Taliban have seized many plots of land and residential areas across Afghanistan. They claim that these lands belong to the Islamic Emirate. However, in many cases, the Taliban's claims of ownership are challenged by local residents and landowners.

Earlier, it was reported that more than 100,000 Afghans had returned to their homeland from Iran and Pakistan in the past two weeks.
