Umidjon Akkulov, Chairman of the Tourism Committee, delivered a report outlining the outcomes of recent reforms and the performance metrics achieved within the tourism sector.
It was highlighted that the country experienced an almost 17 percent rise in total service volume during the first half of this year, largely propelled by a significant surge in tourism services. Speakers underscored that ongoing reforms are cementing tourism's position as a key catalyst for economic expansion, employment generation, and regional progress.
Significant attention was directed toward implementing projects designed to qualitatively modernize the tourism sector. Primary objectives include upgrading tourism infrastructure, adopting contemporary management methodologies, boosting the competitiveness of the national tourism offerings, and attracting a greater number of high-spending international visitors.
Attendees were also informed about initiatives to foster nascent tourism segments, such as medical, gastronomic, business (MICE), ecological, winter, and extreme tourism.
Subsequent to the discussions, senators emphasized the necessity of further refining state policy concerning tourism, broadening regional tourism capabilities, and elevating service quality to align with international benchmarks.
