Second round of Open Budget initiative enters project review phase
The submission period for the second round of Uzbekistan's 2026 Open Budget initiative has ended, with citizens submitting 23,551 project proposals.

Open Budget Initiative's Second Round Moves to Project Review
The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that the second round of the Open Budget initiative has advanced to the project review phase. From July 15 to August 3, the ministry accepted proposals, during which time citizens nationwide put forward over 23,500 initiatives designed to tackle local concerns.
The subsequent phase of the initiative, scheduled from August 4 to 18, will involve the review and evaluation of all submitted projects based on predefined selection criteria.
The ministry highlighted that the Open Budget program empowers residents to directly shape local development priorities by submitting citizen-driven project proposals.
