Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – A prototype of the Russian Il-114-300 passenger plane has arrived in Uzbekistan to undergo evaluations in exceptionally high temperatures.
The aircraft completed a direct flight from the Moscow region to Bukhara. Here, experts will carry out a series of tests in a dry environment with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Celsius. This program aims to determine the dependability of the aircraft's onboard systems and equipment when operating in hot weather.
The Il-114-300 is a regional turboprop passenger aircraft built to transport over 60 passengers. It is designed for use on regional routes, including operations at airfields with unpaved runways.
This aircraft is anticipated to eventually take the place of the An-24, which is still in service on several regional routes.
Previously, a prototype Il-114-300 successfully finished tests in extremely cold temperatures in Yakutia, where its performance was assessed in harsh winter conditions.
The testing schedule in Uzbekistan will evaluate the aircraft's operational capabilities under the contrasting climatic conditions.
