Russian ballistic missile strike on Kyiv kills one and injures others
The head of Kyiv's military administration says Russia is "once again massively attacking" and has hit residential buildings.
One individual has died and at least a dozen more have sustained injuries following a Russian ballistic missile and drone assault on Kyiv and its environs, according to official reports.
Timur Tkachenko, who heads Kyiv's military administration, stated that the "enemy is once again massively attacking the Kyiv region," striking both residential structures and warehouses.
Kyiv's Mayor, Vitali Klitschko, expressed concern that individuals might be trapped beneath debris after the central city was hit.
In recent weeks, Russia has escalated its attacks on Kyiv. Wednesday's assault triggered air raid alerts that persisted for over an hour as successive waves of ballistic missiles impacted the city and its periphery.
Tkachenko confirmed that "the consequences of the enemy attack are being recorded in the Bucha, Brovary, and Fastiv districts of the region." He implored, "I urge everyone - do not ignore air raid sirens. Take care of yourselves, your loved ones, and your family."
The military administration of Kyiv has confirmed the death of one woman and injuries to at least 12 other individuals in these attacks.
These recent strikes on Kyiv follow an increase in Ukrainian attacks on Russian civilian infrastructure, including power facilities. Ukraine has also repeatedly targeted the depots of the Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries. On Tuesday morning, five people were killed and ten injured in the Moscow region during the most recent strikes on Wildberries warehouses.
The day prior, Russian officials reported that seven people were killed and 58 injured in a drone attack on a crowded beach in the southern Krasnodar region, witnessed by tourists.
Concurrently, Ukraine voiced strong disapproval over a video depicting a man being pursued by a drone in Kherson, labeling it a deliberate "hunt" and "safari" targeting civilians.
Both nations have denied intentionally targeting civilians.
Ukraine has appealed to its allies for additional US-made Patriot missile interceptors to bolster its defenses against Russian ballistic attacks.
