President Mirziyoyev greets citizens on Friendship of Peoples Day, highlights interethnic harmony reforms

President Mirziyoyev today, July 30, extended his felicitations to the populace of Uzbekistan in observance of Friendship of Peoples Day, underscoring the paramount importance of interethnic concord, forbearance, and unity as the nation's most precious endowments.
In his address, the President noted that Uzbekistan is home to over 130 distinct nationalities and ethnic communities, alongside 12 religious denominations, all coexisting amicably as a unified family and playing crucial roles in the nation's advancement.
He drew attention to the fact that a distinctive framework for interethnic harmony and tolerance has been cultivated in recent years, guided by the esteemed principle: "Our might resides in unity and solidarity." The President stressed that the legal underpinnings of these ongoing transformations have been fortified by 10 legislative and regulatory instruments enacted in this domain, most notably the State Policy Concept in the Sphere of Interethnic Relations.
The message further elaborated that Uzbekistan hosts 157 national cultural centers and 46 friendship associations. Educational instruction nationwide is delivered in seven languages, television and radio broadcasts are aired in 12 languages, and periodicals are printed in 14 languages.
President Mirziyoyev also highlighted the consistent strengthening of amity, reciprocal confidence, and strategic collaboration between Uzbekistan and its neighboring Central Asian states.
Furthermore, the head of state revealed intentions to establish "Do'stlik" (Friendship), a professional, multi-ethnic performing arts collective. He remarked that this artistic group is poised to occupy a significant position in the nation's cultural landscape and will contribute to solidifying bonds of friendship and unity among diverse communities.
Concluding his remarks, the President reiterated his congratulations to all citizens on Friendship of Peoples Day, extending wishes for their well-being, tranquility, domestic contentment, and considerable achievements in their endeavors for the nation's prosperity.
