More than 70 percent of problem loans were allocated by state-owned banks — Central Bank

**According to the Central Bank, more than 70 percent of problem loans in Uzbekistan are accounted for by state-owned banks.**
According to analytical data published by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the bulk of problem loans in the country, namely more than 70 percent, are allocated by state-owned banks.
As of July 1, 2026, the total problem loans of the republic's banks amounted to 22.94 trillion soums. Of this amount, about 16.44 trillion soums are loans issued by state-owned banks and are currently not repaid.
The largest number of problem loans was recorded in the National Bank of Uzbekistan, which reached 3.2 trillion soums. Next in line are Agrobank (3.19 trillion soums), Uzsanoatqurilishbank (1.98 trillion soums), Asaka Bank (1.9 trillion soums) and Mikrokreditbank (1.8 trillion soums). Also, Xalq Bank (1.5 trillion soums) and Business Development Bank (1.48 trillion soums) have high indicators in terms of the share of non-performing loans.
Over the past year, Mikrokreditbank's problem loans have increased by 613 billion soums among state-owned banks, showing a relatively high growth. Aloqabank's non-performing loans have increased by 401 billion soums, and Agrobank's by 394 billion soums. At the same time, Uzsanoatqurilishbank managed to reduce the share of problem loans by 562 billion soums, and Xalq Bank by 346 billion soums.
Private banks account for 6.5 trillion soums of problem loans. In particular, loans allocated by Ipotekabank and not repaid on time amount to 1.1 trillion soums. In Tibisi Bank, this figure reached 1 trillion soums, in Anorbank - 901 billion soums, and in Kapital Bank - 822 billion soums. Problem loans of the remaining private banks amount to less than half a billion soums.
Over the past year, Anorbank's problem loans increased by 586 billion soums, and Tibisi Bank's by 582 billion soums. During the same period, Ipoteka Bank managed to reduce the share of problem loans by 1.2 trillion soums, and Kapital Bank by 1.1 trillion soums.
Earlier, it was reported that the balance of loans received by the population of Uzbekistan from banks increased by 39.5 trillion soums in a year.
