Listee Launches C2C Resale Platform Testing in Uzbekistan
International tech company Listee has launched testing for its C2C resale platform in Uzbekistan, opening an office in Tashkent.

International technology firm Listee has initiated trials of its proprietary customer-to-customer (C2C) resale platform, designating Uzbekistan as one of its initial launch territories.
The platform integrates classified advertisements, mechanisms for fostering user trust, artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, and a secure transaction service.
To facilitate its operations within the country, Listee has established an office in Tashkent and assembled a local team. Zafar Iskhakov, the Country Manager for Uzbekistan, will oversee the project's regional expansion. The company is also cultivating alliances with entities in Uzbekistan's logistics and digital ecosystems, encompassing the telecommunications and fintech sectors.
Vitaly Tumanov, Listee's founder and CEO, previously held executive roles at Google, Avito, and Yandex Eats, where he was responsible for developing technological services utilized by millions of users.
The project team comprises specialists with prior experience at companies such as Google, Coca-Cola, Wolt, Yandex, and Unilever. The project is being developed with backing from international investors whose capital is directed towards the creation of the tech platform and the exploration of opportunities for expansion into new markets.
According to Tumanov, the primary challenge the platform aims to resolve is the prevalent lack of trust between individuals in online commerce. He stated, "We see that the main barrier to the development of peer-to-peer online trading is the lack of trust. Today, to sell an item via a messenger app, the seller and buyer have to trust a complete stranger, and the outcome of the deal is unpredictable — including attempts to buy the item for a fraction of its price. We want to remove this barrier and give people the opportunity to buy and sell from each other safely and conveniently."
The platform's AI technologies assist in identifying relevant offers, assessing listing quality, and detecting potentially suspicious activity, while also streamlining the listing creation process for sellers.
A rating and review system enables users to make informed decisions when selecting a transaction counterparty. As per the platform's operational framework, communication between buyers and sellers occurs through integrated secure chat and calls, without the disclosure of personal phone numbers. Payment and item delivery are managed via platform partners: the seller delivers the item to a logistics partner, and payment is disbursed to the seller only after the buyer receives and confirms receipt of the item.
At its current stage, the company is researching user requirements and testing the product to formulate its subsequent regional development strategy.
Moving forward, Listee intends to develop secure payment options, integrate with logistics services, and implement additional user protection mechanisms, including buyer and seller reputation profiles. Based on the testing outcomes, the company will evaluate the demand for the solution, user experience, and prospects for further market development.
In addition to Uzbekistan, the company is concentrating on Central Asian markets, as well as the Middle East and Southeast Asia, as avenues for future scaling.
