Korzinka to Lease 36 Parking Lots Adjacent to Its Supermarkets

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Korzinka supermarket chain has acquired the leasing rights for 36 existing parking lots situated next to its operational stores. This initiative is designed to enhance parking availability and provide a more comfortable experience for customers, as stated by the company.

The rights to manage parking facilities at these 36 locations were obtained through an auction. All lots are located next to the chain's active supermarkets.

Company representatives expressed that they consider parking infrastructure a vital component of customer service. The project's objective is to enable customers to easily locate available parking spaces when they visit the stores.

A similar system is already implemented at several of the chain's supermarkets, where the first hour of parking is free, followed by an hourly charge. The company estimates that one hour is typically enough for most shopping trips, while this model promotes a steady turnover of parking spaces, ensuring they remain accessible for shoppers.

In the initial phase of the project, Parking24 will serve as the technical operator, overseeing the implementation and management of automated parking systems. Looking ahead, Korzinka intends to continue working with specialized partners to maintain the effective operation of its parking facilities.

The establishment of the parking areas will occur in phases, following the completion of all necessary legal procedures and the acquisition of required approvals.

The company highlighted that the enhancement of parking infrastructure is not viewed as a standalone business venture. The primary emphasis of the chain is on advancing modern retail practices and enhancing customer service quality, with the development of parking lots being part of efforts to create a convenient environment around its supermarkets.

Korzinka also clarified that this project is not associated with the establishment of paid on-street parking. The initiative pertains solely to existing parking areas located directly next to the chain's supermarkets. These lots are positioned away from the main roadways, separated from street traffic, sidewalks, and green spaces, and are already in use by supermarket patrons.
