Kazakhstan’s grain and flour exports climb 12.6% to 13.9mn tons

Kazakhstan's grain and flour exports saw a 12.6% rise, reaching 13.9 million tons in grain equivalent from September 2025 to July 2026. This figure is up from 12.4 million tons exported during the same timeframe the previous year, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The national railway company, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, attributed this surge primarily to heightened demand from its established export markets in Central Asia and Afghanistan.

Uzbekistan continued to be the top importer of Kazakh grain and flour, with shipments to the country increasing by 36% to 5.8 million tons. Exports to Afghanistan also saw a significant jump of 57%, totaling 2.4 million tons. Deliveries to Kyrgyzstan grew by 35% to 528,000 tons, and shipments to Turkmenistan rose by 32% to 220,000 tons.

The Ministry of Agriculture stated that these outcomes underscore robust international demand for Kazakhstan's agricultural goods and validate the success of initiatives designed to enhance export logistics and foster trade and economic partnerships with other nations. This growth in exports reinforces Kazakhstan's ongoing significance as a key grain provider to Central Asia and Afghanistan, regions that continue to show strong demand for imported agricultural products.
