As of yet, Tehran has not issued a statement regarding the alleged attack. This event unfolded during a period of reduced hostilities between the two nations, a pause intended to facilitate the resumption of negotiations.
Just the day before, on Monday, US President Donald Trump had remarked that "very friendly negotiations [were] going on" with Iran, following three consecutive days without an exchange of strikes between the two sides.
