In Uzbekistan, it is now possible to withdraw cash currency up to 500 US dollars from banks without documents
Starting August 9, it will be possible to withdraw up to $500 in foreign currency from banks in Uzbekistan without a passport, ID card, or other documents that replace them. Under the previous regulations, this amount was $100.
Uzbekistan has now created the opportunity to withdraw up to $500 in cash foreign currency from banks without identity documents. The relevant document came into force on August 9.
In accordance with the departmental document adopted at the initiative of the Ministry of Justice, it is no longer required to present a passport, ID card or other documents replacing them when purchasing up to $500 in cash foreign currency at banks.
Previously, the amount of foreign currency that could be purchased from banks without documents was $100.
It should be recalled that during 2025, citizens of Uzbekistan sold more currency than they bought. This difference increased to $9.7 billion (+44.2%), becoming an additional source of foreign currency on the market.
