Four former DXX officials stand trial in Tashkent over South Korea labor migration graft

Four former DXX officials are currently on trial in Tashkent, facing charges related to corruption in the labor migration program to South Korea.
The Bektemir District Criminal Court in Tashkent initiated proceedings against the four individuals, who are accused of bribery, money laundering, and abuse of power. This significant case emerged from an investigation into alleged corruption and systemic irregularities within the recruitment and deployment processes for Uzbek migrant workers destined for South Korea.
The trial began on July 29, presided over by Judge Durdona Dadaxonova, as indicated by the Supreme Court’s published schedule. The Prosecutor General's Office conducted the pre-trial investigation.
The defendants in the trial are:
All four individuals are charged under clauses "a" and "b" of Part 3, Article 210 of the Criminal Code (Receiving a bribe in an especially large amount by a group of officials), Article 243 (Legalization of proceeds derived from criminal activity), and Part 1, Article 301 (Abuse of power, excess of official authority, or administrative inaction).
The Tashkent Courts' press service confirmed that the trial of Alijon Ashurov and his co-defendants is being held in a closed-court format. This decision was made because the official case files contain sensitive personal data and other legally protected, classified information.
Judicial authorities have pledged to provide further updates once the trial concludes.
