Foreign digital services nearly double tax payments in Uzbekistan
Foreign providers of digital services paid 143.8 billion soums in taxes in Uzbekistan in the first half of 2026, up 84% from a year earlier, the Tax Committee said.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – According to the Tax Committee, foreign digital service providers operating in Uzbekistan nearly doubled their tax contributions in the first six months of 2026, remitting 143.8 billion soums. This figure represents an 84% surge compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
The committee further reported that the total value of electronic services rendered between January and June reached 1.2 trillion soums, marking an increase of almost 83% from the 656.8 billion soums recorded in the first half of 2025.
Over the past year, the number of foreign electronic service providers registered as taxpayers in Uzbekistan grew from 72 to 97.
The leading contributors to tax revenue were identified as Apple, with payments totaling 33.6 billion soums, followed closely by Google at 33.3 billion soums, and Meta at 29.9 billion soums. Other significant taxpayers included Valve Corp. (15.8 billion soums), Anthropic (6.3 billion soums), OpenAI (5.6 billion soums), Midasbuy (2.9 billion soums), Booking.com (2.6 billion soums), TikTok (1.6 billion soums), and Anysphere (1.5 billion soums).
The composition of the top 10 taxpayers saw a shift from the previous year. Valve Corp., Anthropic, Midasbuy, and Anysphere joined the list, while Netflix, ACCA, Zoom, and Adobe exited the ranking.
Among the companies that maintained their position in the top 10, OpenAI demonstrated the most substantial increase in tax payments, climbing from 2.9 billion soums to 5.6 billion soums. Google's tax payments rose from 19.4 billion soums to 33.3 billion soums, Apple's from 22.1 billion soums to 33.6 billion soums, and Meta's from 22.6 billion soums to 29.9 billion soums.
TikTok was the sole company from the previous year's top 10 to experience a decrease in tax payments, with its contributions falling from 1.8 billion soums to 1.6 billion soums.
The Tax Committee issued a reminder to foreign legal entities offering electronic services in Uzbekistan that they are obligated to submit tax reports and settle their tax liabilities by the 20th day of the month following the conclusion of each quarter.
