Fergana region expands cooperation with Afghan businesses

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Fergana regional governor Khairullo Bozorov received Abdul Hamidi Anyuri, director of the Afghan Emerald Diamond Trading LLC, Atilla Azimi, director of Kam Air, Abdul Latif Navruzi, director of Tajmahal Petroleum, and their partners in Fergana.

As is known, on July 26-27 of this year, a regional delegation of entrepreneurs led by the regional governor visited Afghanistan to further develop trade, economic, and investment cooperation and strengthen mutually beneficial relations. They held a number of official meetings and business talks, and reached fruitful agreements in various areas. Fergana regional trading houses were opened in Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif.

Today's meeting is a logical continuation of the agreements reached during that visit, during which issues of bringing bilateral cooperation to a practical stage, forming new investment projects, and expanding trade and economic ties were discussed.

The meeting noted that relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have reached a completely new level in recent years, and special attention is paid to further developing mutual trust and beneficial economic cooperation.

Afghan entrepreneurs highly appreciated the industrial and entrepreneurial potential of the Fergana region and expressed their interest in establishing cooperation in the fields of trade, agriculture, aviation, energy and logistics. New initiatives were put forward in these areas.

The governor of the region, Khairullo Bozorov, expressed his readiness to actively participate in expanding Uzbek-Afghan economic cooperation in Fergana region, expressing confidence that all opportunities for cooperation in each area would be used.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to accelerate the implementation of joint investment projects, increase bilateral trade turnover, and take cooperation to a new level.
