Fergana police intercept minivan packed with 28 children in severe safety violation

Police in Fergana have stopped a minivan that was dangerously overloaded with 28 children, constituting a serious safety breach.

Traffic safety officers in the Toshloq district of Fergana province pulled over a Damas minivan that was unlawfully carrying 28 children. Local authorities reported that the vehicle was halted in the Turvat neighborhood. A significant safety concern was noted as five of the children were squeezed into the front passenger seat alone.

Officials highlighted that, despite continuous advisories to parents and drivers about child transportation safety rules, such perilous infractions are still common.

As a result of the incident, the driver received an administrative violation notice under Article 128-8 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. Furthermore, 0.3 penalty points were added to the driver's license.

This event mirrors a previous case on July 21 in the Vanghozi neighborhood of Navoiy province's Qiziltepa district, where a driver faced legal repercussions for severely violating preschool transport safety. In that instance, crime prevention inspectors discovered the driver had packed 17 kindergarteners into a Damas minivan.
