Fergana heating company under investigation over alleged UZS 12.9bn subsidy fraud
Authorities have uncovered an alleged scheme in which officials of a district heating company in Fergana region fraudulently obtained UZS 12.9 billion in excess state subsidies by submitting falsified documents, according to the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office.

A heating company in Fergana is currently under investigation for allegedly defrauding the state of UZS 12.9 billion in subsidies.
A preliminary inquiry revealed that officials at Issiqlik Ta'minoti LLC submitted falsified documents to the regional Department of Economy and Finance. These submissions covered the years 2024, 2025, and the initial five months of 2026.
Investigators determined that the company reported supplying 212,300 gigacalories (Gcal) of thermal energy to households. However, the actual amount delivered was only 85,700 Gcal.
Based on these inflated figures, the company reportedly received UZS 12.9 billion in unwarranted subsidies from the state budget. Investigators have characterized this as "particularly large-scale financial damage" to state interests.
A criminal case has been initiated, and investigative procedures are ongoing.
