Energy prices rise by 19% in a year -report

The Retail Prices Indices and Household Costs Indices inflation statistics have been published.

A recent report indicates a 19% surge in energy prices and an increase in Retail Prices Index (RPI) inflation to 4.3%.

The statistics, encompassing Guernsey's RPI and Household Costs Indices (HCI) inflation, cover the year concluding in June 2026.

The "Fuel and Light" category experienced the most significant annual rise at 19%. Following this, the "Tobacco" group saw an 11.7% increase, and the "Catering" group went up by 6.3%, when compared to the year ending June 2025.

The report also highlighted that households with at least one retired adult faced the highest overall HCI increase, reaching 5.2%.
