Chinor Metro Station Set to Reopen Following Extensive Renovation

The Chinor station, part of the Chilanzar Line of the Tashkent Metro, is scheduled to recommence service at 5 a.m. on July 29, after undergoing significant reconstruction, as announced by the Tashkent Metro press service.

The renovation project focused on enlarging the station's entry and exit points. The number of entry turnstiles has been expanded from six to 13, a modification anticipated to enhance the movement of passengers.

Prior to its reconstruction, the station typically accommodated approximately 15,000 passengers daily. Following the upgrades, its projected daily capacity has more than doubled, now estimated to handle between 35,000 and 40,000 passengers.

The above-ground pedestrian crossings, which had previously posed difficulties for commuters, were also completely reconfigured. These alterations now facilitate direct access between Chinor station and Kipchak station on the Circle Line.

Deputy Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov directed the reconstruction efforts. The project additionally incorporated provisions for the installation of four high-capacity elevators.

Chinor station was closed on June 10, with reconstruction commencing on June 13. The work was initially projected to last 50 days, with an original reopening date set for August 2.

During the reconstruction period, complimentary metrobus services were provided to transport passengers between Chinor and Yangihayot stations.
