Belarus and Uzbekistan will expand cooperation in the customs sphere.

Belarus and Uzbekistan intend to deepen cooperation in customs regulation, focusing on measures to simplify trade operations and increase mutual trade. These issues were discussed during a meeting between Vladimir Orlovsky, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus, and Nuriddin Mamajonov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belarus, according to the press service of the State Customs Committee of Belarus.

A key aspect of the talks was stimulating increased trade flows between the two countries. As noted at the State Customs Committee, Belarus and Uzbekistan aim to double their mutual trade in the coming years, which is in line with the objective outlined by the two countries' leaders during recent talks in Minsk.

The parties also reviewed the implementation of the Agreement between the Governments of Belarus and Uzbekistan on the Mutual Use of Electronic Systems for Certification of Origin of Goods, which was signed in 2024. The State Customs Committee emphasized that the implementation of this digital tool will facilitate trade procedures and further increase trade turnover.

In addition, the signing of an Agreement on Mutual Recognition of the Authorized Economic Operator Institution was noted. This document provides for a number of simplifications available to participants in foreign economic activity in both countries.

Following the meeting, representatives of the State Customs Committee of Belarus and the Embassy of Uzbekistan outlined promising areas of practical cooperation aimed at further developing bilateral trade.
