AirAsia X to Suspend Flights Between Kuala Lumpur and Tashkent

AirAsia X has revealed its decision to halt flights between Kuala Lumpur and Tashkent. The last flight on this route is scheduled for September 1, with services ceasing entirely from September 2, 2026.

The connection between the Malaysian and Uzbek capitals commenced on October 15, 2025, meaning the airline will have operated scheduled flights on this path for under a year.

According to the company, this move is part of a broader strategy to optimize its route network, aiming for sustained long-term viability while striving to minimize disruption for travelers.

AirAsia X indicated that it will keep a close watch on market dynamics and demand, leaving open the potential for reinstating flights on this route at a later date.

Travelers impacted by the cancellations will be informed through the contact information provided during their booking. For tickets secured directly via the official AirAsia website or the AirAsia MOVE app, passengers have the choice of a complete refund or a credit deposited into an AirAsia MOVE account. This credit remains valid for future travel for 730 days from its issue date.

Those who purchased tickets through travel agencies or other third-party booking platforms are advised by the airline to reach out directly to their respective ticketing agent.

AirAsia X explicitly stated that it will not cover ancillary costs such as cancelled hotel reservations, connecting flights with other carriers, excursions, or any other related expenditures. For further support, passengers are directed to utilize AirAsia's official support service, AirAsia AskBo.
