100 trillion soums in state assets to be privatized with lower down payments

A new privatization initiative, valued at 100 trillion soums, is set to offer 1.3 thousand real estate properties, 8,000 hectares of land, and state shares in 66 enterprises, as announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
To facilitate purchases, the upfront down payment required from entrepreneurs acquiring these state assets will be halved, decreasing from 30% to 15%. Furthermore, buyers will be granted the option to settle the remaining balance through interest-free installments.
While acknowledging that 3,000 state-owned assets, collectively worth 22 trillion soums, are currently listed for auction, the head of state voiced criticism regarding regional governors (hokims) for their unsystematic approach to divesting state property.
